hi professor,i completed my first degree in business management around mid last year and i plan to go to america to study nursing in some college, what do you think are the chances of me getting a visa with the sudden shift in my area of study, and if they ask me a question can i attribute it to the passion i have for nursing?

That can make it tricky. Keep in mind that most nursing programs will have a bifurcated admission process at the baccalaureate level. You will first have to do two years of general sciences, given your business origin, then apply to and get accepted to the nursing program proper. At that point your two year ordeal begins. But the embassy will have to assess the probability that you will get a nursing degree in the USA, with the high demand and great pay for USA nurses, and that you will return to your home country. It is done. Students do get visas. They would really have to believe that you will complete the program; that you have the funding for it; and that you are qualified. I would say your journey begins with getting the school and getting admitted. Get busy.

Shakiru,
Most US Universities with a Business department will have the programs you are looking for. Just do a Google search and take it from there. It will likely produce many results, once you have that you can start narrow down the list based on the advice we provide on this page and throughout the site.
Good Luck.

SLIM to none…is how I describe a foreign student’s chance of getting into a US med school…the placement is impossible, the cost prohibitive; Cant give much good news here. You will have to do an exam called the MCAT; that is After you have completed your degree with at least a 3.5 GPA….and then you will have to show all the requisite, anatomy, physiology, biology, and chemistry courses…… consider http://www.sgu.edu and get some information. There are many nigerians there….and it is a great school.

Khushboo, it is helpful to say what country you live in—what board exams you undertood–what level you are trying to study—what subject you are trying to study—what is your budget- These factors allow us to craft a suitable answer for you. With a question so broad, there is no way we can intelligently advise you.
